Simple Chocolate Bunny. When I was a little girl, my best friend’s dad used to bring home Kinder-eggs for my friend and me. I loved them! They were the greatest thing ever in my 5 year old mind. I have often wished that I could get some to give to my kids and niece and nephew. When I saw the candy molds available from Baker’s Party Shop, I knew immediately I would try to make some homemade Kinder-treats. The little bunny mold is the sweetest little candy mold ever.
I used Wilton Candy Melts, the candy mold, and some gummi treats from Oriental Trading Company, and some tape to hold the molds together as the chocolate set. Following the candy melt package directions, I melted the chocolate, and lined the molds with the chocolate. I allowed the chocolate to harden and then I added some gummi carrots and rabbits to one side of the mold. Next, I piped some more melted chocolate around the edges of one side of the bunny, and put the molds together. I taped it shut, and popped it into the fridge for about 30 min. While it cooled, I put a paring knife in the freezer. I used the knife to trim around the edges of the bunny after I popped it out of the mold.
Now, my bunnies are ready for my niece and nephew’s Easter buckets!
