Perfect Summer Playlist DIY. There are few things that flood my memories of childhood fun like music and tastes. It’s so funny how hearing one song can take you back to High School, or to the skating rink, or even watching fireworks with your family. Likewise, whenever I twist open a bottle of Coca Cola (especially the little glass bottles) I am instantly younger and carefree, enjoying my very own bottle of Coca Cola! In recent years, Coca Cola has released limited edition Share A Song 20 oz bottles, each with lyrics to a song. I am usually drawn to the ones from my childhood. This year, you can purchase a 20 oz bottle from Target Stores with a 25% off Cartwheel offer. Simply tweet @ShareMoreMusic with your 20oz Coca-Cola lyric, followed with the hashtag: #ShareASong. @ShareMoreMusic will respond with a link to access exclusive Music Artist Content and a 25% hidden Cartwheel offer on Target.com. Coca Cola, fun music memories, the smells of summer, and discounts at Target…it truly doesn’t get much better than that!
Be sure to join the Twitter Party on May 24th at 1 too! RSVP here.

During the summer we host tons of parties, planned and impromptu. However, there are several things you can always count on at our parties, ice cold Coca Cola, delicious food, and a rocking party playlist!
So, what do you need to create the Perfect Summer Playlist?
First, have enough music on your playlist to outlast your party by 30-90 minutes. Start and end the playlist with slower, lower music; gradually work your way from slower and softer music to more lively tunes, and then back to slower songs again. No one wants to walk into a party with blaring loud music, and on the same note, no one wants to leave a rocking party…your guests will know the party is winding down when the music starts to slow.
When you make your perfect playlist, you need to remember to play timeless tunes. #1 rated songs topped the charts for a reason. Pick songs from several eras and genres. You don’t have to play all heavy rock or all smooth jazz. Play a mix, and add some songs from your youth, and even before. Remember, it was a chart topper for a reason. Choose music that gives you all the feels, chances are it will give your guests the same feelings.
We have about 4000 songs in our music library…so, we taylor our playlists for parties and seasons. A great way to add to your music library is to find second hand CD’s. You can definitely get some awesome playlist inspiration from the Coca Cola and Diet Coke Share A Song 20 oz Bottles too! I seriously got all the memories and feels when I saw Girls Just Wanna Have Fun…then, I looked over and saw Summer, Summer, Summertime (you sang that like I did, didn’t you?) And, umm, I was totally watching fireworks when I saw the bottle with I’m Proud to be an American on it. And Always on My Mind…yeah, that’s on my summer playlist for sure!
Finally, make sure your music choices flow from one song to the next well. I hate when my music doesn’t flow well!
If all else fails, you can set up iTunes to create a genius playlist.
Also, while this isn’t related to the playlist per se, it is an important part of the musical experience…speakers. We have indoor surround sound, we have outdoor speakers, and we have several speaker boxes. Our favorite right now is a small portable speaker box that has amazing sound. It is totally portable and has so much better sound than you would expect for something so small.

Can summer start right now??? I think tomorrow night calls for poolside music, grilling, and , of course, Coca-Cola. I have loved Coke since I was little and it is as delicious today as it was then! Thanks for this post!
