Falling for Fall. Earlier this week Cricut sent me a box of gold awesome. I immediately thought about what a beautiful party I could style using all of the fabulous gold toned products! Falling for Fall came together quickly and turned out beautifully. I needed to keep my costs *way* down for this too, so I didn’t purchase anything but the food and some extra gold spray paint. (I ran out about half way through spray painting the pine cones I gathered when I took the dog for a walk)
I was able to repurpose or create all of the decor using my Cricut Explore and a few cans of gold spray paint! The centerpiece for the table was an old window my mom gave me. I added Falling for Fall with gold Cricut vinyl in different fonts. Then, I used Cricut Poster Board, Metallics in gold tones to cut out little leaves from the Cricut Design Store. I hot glued the leaves to fishing line and attached them to the window frame. I framed the window with tall glass apothecary jars. One was full of gold spray painted pine cones. On the outside of the glass, I added the word FALL with white Cricut window cling. The other jar is where we put our wine bottle corks. I used a piece of scrap burlap and iron on hem to create a table runner. It was nice, but too plain, so I used Cricut Iron On Gold Glitter to make small polka dots and randomly ironed them on the table runner. It was a subtle, but lovely addition to the table. Since I *may* have cut out too many, I added some to small canvas favor bags too.
I added desserts to various cake plates in front of the window. I bought croissants and eclairs from Sam’s club, and made cupcakes. I was able to purchase a cupcake wrapper from the Cricut Design Store ($0.99, not included in the subscription) and cut it out using the gold poster board. To keep waste to a minimum, I cut the leaves and the cupcake wrappers from the same pages. (Standard cupcakes are 7.35″-7.5″ long) I added a circle I cut from Anna Griffin’s new glitter card stock (available on October 7th) on the cake plate to give it an unexpected pop of color and glam. I LOVE this paper! The shiny look of glitter without the glitter all over the place! It is A-Mazing!
In front of the cake plates, I swagged gold painted mini pumpkins and pine cones. I had white chargers left over from another project, so I added gold glitter card stock circles to them, and added clear serving plates on top. I served juice and champagne. The champagne glasses are inexpensive Ikea glasses with gold paint pen dots on the bottom of the flute. I love straws, especially straws with little flags, so I made some using Anna Griffin’s fun new gold toned washi sheets (also available on October 7th) and a flag shape from the Design Space Store. Easy peasy! I used the same washi sheets to make cello bag stickers.
