Peach Sweet Tea

Peach Sweet Tea

Peach Sweet Tea. This is as southern as you can get, sweet Georgia peaches, and cold sun brewed tea! Peaches are so good this time of year, and they are super cheap too! I recently purchased a basket of them from a roadside fruit stand and they are the juiciest, most delicious peaches I’ve ever had! But, I can only make so many peach cobblers, and so much peach ice cream. So, I did what any good southern girl should and I made a mess of peach sweet tea!

I started with good old fashioned sun tea. I made a gallon according to the package instructions, but instead of adding sugar to it to sweeten it, I added peach simple syrup.

I made the peach syrup with 2 fresh sliced peaches, a cup of water, and a cup of sugar. I boiled the mix for ten minutes, and then allowed it to simmer for another 10 minutes on low. I strained the peaches from the syrup, and added 1.5 cups to the sun tea I had already prepared. Keep refrigerated and enjoy in a rocking chair on a large front porch!
