Valentine, You Make My Heart Race

Valentine, You Make My Heart Race. As the mom of 4 boys, traditional Valentine’s Day parties and treats are all too feminine for my crew. I have spent most of their elementary school years making more boy friendly Valentine’s treats for them to pass out to their classmates. This year, I only have to make treats for one boy, but my nephew heard about the party his little sister got, and, I had to invite a few of his friends over for a Valentine’s Day celebration, guy style! I reached out to Pineapple Paper Co., again to help me with the printables, and she won the race with these adorable Valentine’s Day cards and party circles! I love her preppy style! She used a very non-tradtional color scheme for the printables and I was in love at first sight. My mom and one of my boys happened to find a few old tool boxes in the trash recently, and the largest one is blue…it was perfect for our party. I used our high pressure hose sprayer and some dish detergent to clean it, and then lined the drawers with fresh new Kunin Group Felt. I filled the top of the tool box with extra tires, a.k.a. Chocolate Caramel Cream candies, a mason jar full of green gum. (My grandfather used to store all of his small tools and doo-dads in mason jars) I also filled blue lunch bags with Hot Wheels cars, pencils, tattoos, and candies, and tied a Valentine tag to them with baker’s twine. Cello bags held loose Hot Wheels cars and were adorned with party circle tags. One of the pull out drawers was the perfect display and cake plate for the mini cupcakes. Again, the drawer was lined with fresh Kunin Group Felt. Several of the mini cupcakes were topped with printable party circles.

A metal bucket was filled with water bottles wrapped in cardstock and decorated with more printable party circles. Glass jars with green and blue gum balls were a big hit for the guests. Mini donuts on a metal cake plate, and chocolate cookies rounded out the sweets for the boys.
