Fall Pillow DIY – One SVG Three Ways
Fall Pillow DIY – One SVG Three Ways. It is nearly time for Fall entertaining, and I am so very ready for it! Typically, we like to decorate the house for Fall in September, then, add Halloween elements during October, and slowly transition into Thanksgiving in November. But, y’all that is a lot of decorating, and it can cost a lot of money to do that. One of my favorite ways to add a little seasonal decor is with throw pillow covers. It’s simple and affordable.
I am excited to share this project today, because my friends SeeLindsay and Pineapple Paper Co. are using the same SVG file I did, but for totally different projects!
It is SO easy to make custom pillow covers for any occasion, here’s what you will need:
Cutting Machine (I use a Cricut)
Begin by uploading your SVG into Design Space. I wanted to add a little something more to the plain pumpkin SVG, so after I uploaded it, I typed text into Design Space. I wanted my text to be connected, so, I ungrouped the text, and moved each letter so they all were touching, once the letters were all touching, I selected the text, attached it, and then welded it. This will make the text reconnect, and cut as one cut instead of cutting each letter individually.
After I welded the text, I placed it over the pumpkin SVG and sliced it. This will literally slice the text out of the pumpkin.
Next, I sized the newly sliced pumpkin to fit my pillow cover, and sent it to my Cricut to cut. {Don’t forget to place the Iron On the cutting mat shiny side down, and mirror the cut}
After the Iron On is cut, preheat the EasyPress to the recommended setting, and weed the excess Iron On while the EasyPress heats up. Place the pillow cover on the EasyPress Mat and quickly warm it before placing the Iron On design on the pillow cover. Apply the Iron On, cover with the Protective Sheet, and press it. Flip the pillow cover inside out and press with the EasyPress to secure the Iron On design.
Finally, put a throw pillow in the pillow cover and fluff it some. Now your house is decorated for the season, and you are ready to entertain guests!
Check out how my friends, Pineapple Paper Co. and SeeLindsay used the same SVG file to create something totally different!
