Trunk or Treat Blog Hop
Trunk or Treat Blog Hop. Something wicked this way comes…I absolutely love Halloween! We have never participated in a Trunk or Treat, but this year we are {finally} joining in the fun at our local Chick Fil A, and I am super excited! So, when Paula reached out to ask if I would Trunk or Treat blog hop with Tikkido, I was thrilled to be a part! I set up our trunk in our driveway to practice for the Chick Fil A Trunk or Treat.
Be sure to check out Tikkido’s Trunk for some batty fun, don your lab coat and head to Frog Prince Paperie’s Trunk, and finally to Cupcake Wishes and Birthday Dreams’ Trunk for more fun!
First, I printed a spooky woods scene as an oversized print at Staples. I found the photo here. I attached it to foam core to make it more rigid, then I got to work gathering Halloween decorations from our garage. I also pulled out our pop up tent to put over the table and tailgate. I will hang purple twinkle lights from the tent for our real Trunk or Treat, but since it was daylight when I photographed this one, I didn’t take the time to hang them. I used a small folding table in front/back of our SUV to hold the candy bucket and other decorations.
To block off the inside of the SUV, I hung a black sheet. (Thread a piece of PVC through the top of the sheet, and “drop” the PVC into the “track” above the tailgate opening.) I also placed a piece of burlap on the deck of the tailgate. I decorated in the tailgate with the enlarged spooky woods photo, a spooky tree from Oriental Trading Co., the Trick or Treat sign I made last year using my Cricut, a small Witches cauldron with extra candy, and battery operated lights from the Target Dollar Spot.
I decorated next to the car on each side too. On one side, I put a large grim reaper, I bought it from Target years ago. Behind him, I added a strobe light with sound effects. On the other side, I added a homemade toe pincher coffin with a hanging skeleton and our fog machine.
The table was covered in a spiderweb lace table cloth from Pick Your Plum. I used Spanish moss to make a bed for our witch in the crystal ball. I added a small black bird from the Dollar Tree to the moss too. I placed a larger cauldron full of candy. I added battery powered flickering candles (also from the Dollar Tree) to the table too.
I am very happy with the way our Trunk turned out, and I cannot wait to set it up soon at Chick Fil A!

Wow, you have some awesome Halloween props! But I think my favorite element is that black and white print of the trees. Perfect atmospheric touch!
