Holiday Treat Container DIY

Sour Cream Container Xyron Mega Runner

Holiday Treat Container DIY

Holiday Treat Container DIY. With Halloween having just passed, it’s time to start thinking about holiday treats and simple gift giving ideas.

Sour Cream Container Xyron Mega Runner

This review is based strictly on my opinion.  Others may have a different opinion or experience with the product listed.  I was provided the sample free of charge and paid a small fee by the company or PR agency and I provided my honest opinion.
If you decide to make a purchase through my links, I will be paid a small commission for it. This doesn’t cost you anything additional. These commissions help to keep the rest of my content free, so thank you!
Like most children, my kiddos love to trick or treat, and like most parents, I cringe at the thought of the kids eating all that candy! We typically let the kids fill a sandwich size ziploc baggie of candy to keep, and then I’ll donate some and bake with some…eventually, I have to throw out the remaining candy when my kids aren’t looking. But, it occurred to me the other day that I could reuse some of that candy in little treat containers. I love the simplicity of sour cream containers, and they can be made in seconds!
I’m so excited to share that BOTH Xyron and Jillibean Soup are hosting giveaways on their Facebook pages!
Xyron Jillibean Soup Giveaway

To make these cute little containers, you will need:

Jillibean Soup Xyron Mega Runner

Xyron Mega Runner
Jillibean Soup Paper
Candies or Small Treats
Scissors or Paper Cutter
Optional, Paper Crimper
Begin by cutting the paper into 4”x6” rectangles. One rectangle = one sour cream treat container.

Use the Mega Runner to apply adhesive to both 6” sides and one 4” side.

Roll the paper so that the 4” side over laps the other 4” side, and creates a 4” long tube.
Pinch one side of the tube closed.

Add candy or small treat to the open tube, but be careful of the adhesive on the open end.

Pinch the remaining open end closed in the opposite direction of the first end.

Now, you can crimp the ends to give them a little more dimension, or you can leave it as is.
Embellish with stickers, rosettes, or ribbon. Or, you can leave it as is. These would be SUPER cute as ornaments too, just use a single hole punch at the top and add some ribbon.
