Simple Communion Shirt DIY
Simple Communion Shirt DIY. It’s the time of year for children to take their first communion. Two of my boys were confirmed two years ago, and the youngest will be confirmed next Spring. The boys get a special outfit, a Bible, and a photo plaque with their confirmation verse on it…but I know they don’t always enjoy being dressed up for their post confirmation reception.
I recently found this great SVG on ETSY, and I fell in love with it. In fact, I decided to make one a shirt for our sons’ youth pastor. He is being ordained, and there is a small party at the church after his ceremony. Our pastor has been a part of so many things in our boys’ lives, and we are blessed to have him.
I will be making another shirt for my youngest son as he starts communion classes in the fall. It is also going to be my go to for baptism gifts as well!
To make this Holy Communion Shirt, you will need:
After you purchase the SVG file from ETSY, upload it to Design Space, and size it to fit your shirt or onesie. {This SVG needed to be cleaned up a little, but it was super easy to do, just ungroup, and delete the extra dots in the design} Once it is the correct size, send it to your Cricut to cut. Don’t forget to mirror your cut and apply the Iron On shiny side down.
Cut and weed the iron on, and pre-heat your EasyPress. {Follow these guidelines for temperature and pressing times} Preheat the shirt or onesie, and press the Iron On onto the shirt. Press the back side of the shirt as well, and pair with a small cross or bible for the perfect first communion gift.
