Lucky Shirt DIY. I recently bought myself an iPad Pro and I cannot.stop.playing with it! I used to color and draw all the time, but life got in the way, and I stopped…and I truly didn’t realize how much I missed it until I got the iPad. This year I am committed to reading a book for fun or a book to improve EPM every day. I am also committed to practicing lettering and drawing on my iPad several hours a week. And, since I love to make shirts and mugs with my Cricut, the next logical step would be using the designs I make to create SVG cut files.
My youngest was born just two days before St. Patrick’s Day, and is my little lucky boy. Each year he gets a new St. Patrick’s Day shirt {or three} and wears them all year. I am so excited he has one that I not only made for him, but drew for him too!
Supplies:
Once I created the SVG {With a little help from my friends}, I uploaded the file to Design Space. {You do not need to have Cricut Access for this} I ungrouped the image, and welded the L to the CKY part, and welded the black ovals in the horse show together.
Next, I sent the image to my Cricut to cut.{Don’t forget to mirror your cut and put the iron on on the cutting mat shiny side down}
I folded the shirt in half and pressed it with my EasyPress. {This makes placing the vinyl so.much.easier!} Then, I placed the green LCKY vinyl centered on the shirt and pressed it at 350* for 30 seconds. Next, I added the gold horse shoe and covered it and the green vinyl with the Cricut Protective Sheet and pressed it at 350* for another 30 seconds. I did the same with the black ovals on the horse shoe. Finally, I flipped the shirt inside out and pressed the backside of design for 30 more seconds at 350*.
My son was THRILLED to see that I already made him his St. Patrick’s Day shirt and promptly put it on.
