Simple DIY Menorah Calendar. I love interactive holiday decorations, and this Menorah Calendar makes me smile! I made this fun little calendar in just a few minutes with the help of my Cricut Maker, and Cricut EasyPress. But, I didn’t stop there, I made a fun dreidel thumbtack to hang it on too!

To make this project, I purchased a sheet of 12.5″x17.5″ blue felt and 1/2″ square dowel rods from the craft store, the rest of the supplies were things I already had at home. Cricut Design Space has several Hanukkah cut files, but I was drawn to the Menorah. I sliced it into pieces, making the candles a smaller cut that wouldn’t need to be layered under the menorah. I cut the menorah out of gold Cricut Iron On, and the candles out of white Cricut Iron On. I used yellow Cricut felt to cut the flames, so they could be added to the candles daily throughout Hanukkah.

After I ironed the vinyl onto the felt, I cut the dowel rods to fit the felt. The bottom piece was cut to fit exactly, but the top piece was cut an inch longer than the felt is wide. This allowed me to add the twine to hang it. I used hot glue to attach the dowel rods to the back of the felt, and the twine to the top of the dowel rod. 

To make the dreidel thumbtack, I predrilled a hole into the back of the dreidel and then painted it with DecoArt metallic gold paint. Once the paint was dry, I filled the hole with hot glue and added a thumbtack. I made sure to keep the thumbtack flush with hole in the dreidel. Once the glue dried I put it in the wall and hung the Menorah Calendar from it!
