Mummy Halloween Favor with Oriental Trading Company. Halloween + Glow in the Dark = EVERYTHING! Seriously, make it all glow in the dark somehow, mm’kay?

When my son was was a toddler he had to go to occupational and speech therapies. He hated all of it, except when his therapists would let him play with the wind up toys. To this day, he will still stop at the impulse toys if there are wind ups on display. So, when I saw these super fun GLOW IN THE DARK wind up mummies from Oriental Trading, I knew I had to order them. 

I hid the box as soon as it was delivered to save it for a rainy day surprise for him…as it happens, he’s been terribly sick this past weekend, and these little goodies were just the thing to help cheer him up!

I could have given him the wind up toys as the come, but, there isn’t any suspense in that! So, I quickly used my Cricut to cut out a little favor box. (If you didn’t want to make a box, a small burlap bag would be cute too) Once I assembled the box, I tossed in some fabric scraps, and the wind up mummy, and wrapped it with more fabric scraps to mimic mummy wrapping.

Since my guy is big on puns, I printed up a little DO NOT UNWRAP tag for the box, and painted it with thick coffee to make it look aged. 

These would be fun party favors, or class treats too, so, I am sharing the free printable DO NOT UNWRAP tags here. If you want to age them, use equal-ish parts instant coffee and hot water and paint it on to the paper after you have printed it. Allow it to dry before you punch a hole in it or try to glue it on to the box. Please remember, free printables are for personal use only. They cannot be edited, altered, or resold.
