Teal Pumpkin Project Class Party. My youngest son is in class with a little one that has severe peanut allergies, so we are always very sensitive to their needs, and really make every effort to make sure they are never excluded from class fun. I was asked to help with the class party this year, and I am thrilled to be able to help.
I already know I will bring in LOTS of my beloved Cow Tales and Caramel Creams candies, as they are made in a peanut free factory. But, I want to have a little “teachable moment” with the kids too, so I decided to style the dessert table with Teal Pumpkins, and include non food Halloween treats too. While browsing on Pinterest recently, I found an adorable PVC Lemonade Stand from FORMUFIT. I reached out to them, and they graciously sent me the PVC pipes to make my own. I cannot even begin to tell you how much I love this! (I also cannot wait to use it this weekend for our tailgating party, it is so versatile! Look for a post on it this weekend) It will be super easy to bring in to the class room and set up quickly. The skirt and canopy were made from one flat twin sized sheet, and iron on hem…because I don’t sew. My hubby was kind enough to cut a piece of plywood for the table top, and I painted it with DecoArt white paint. I was able to set up the entire dessert table in just 15 minutes, so I know I will be able to get it all done while the kids were at PE.
To make sure I would be able to set up quickly, I preset the table at home this week. The table was simple. I purchased a Happy Halloween banner and Trick or Treat wooden decoration at Michaels, and painted them white and teal. I hung the Happy portion of the banner on the canopy, and the Halloween part on the lower part of the table. I also grabbed a few plastic pumpkins and spray painted them teal. Candle sticks elevated a few real pumpkins on the table. Mini white pumpkins and small treat filled orange pumpkins dotted the front of the table in front of the cake plate and large glass jars filled with various flavors of Cow Tales candies and Caramel Creams. Cupcakes were topped with Caramel Creams candies, and a vase full of chocolate Caramel Creams sat in the middle of the cake plate with the teal trick or treat sign on a wooden pick stuck inside.
The plastic teal pumpkins are full of non candy treats and waiting for a very special 4th grade class. The kids will do fun games, like eyeball on the spoon races, ring toss, plastic bowling, and even bobbing for pumpkins. They will also decorate mini pumpkins to take home.
I hope that we can teach the kids to be aware of each other’s needs, and hopefully encourage them to include non candy treats in their Halloween buckets at home. I know we will have this booth set up in our driveway on Halloween too!

Even though I was paid by Caramel Creams, I will only work with brands I know and love. All opinions I share are my own.
