Chip off the Block Father’s Day Gift. I cannot even believe that Father’s Day is already here! This year has gone at warp speed so far…I wish it would slow down some. Anyway, since Father’s Day seems to have snuck up on me, I wanted to share a simple and delicious gift idea I had for my boys to make and give to their dad.

Supplies:

Sizzix Big Shot

Sizzix Cutting Pads -Extended

Sizzix Bigz XL Die – Box, Mini Pizza

Heavy card stock or lightweight chipboard

Free printable (below)

Markers/crayons

Hot glue

optional: Frosting and Icing tips/bag

I started by making several Pizza Cookie Boxes with my Sizzix and the Sizzix Bigz XL Die – Box, Mini Pizza. I LOVE this die. I used a lightweight chipboard to make my boxes. You will need the extended cutting pads for this die, just make a Sizzix sandwich and cut out the boxes. (Cutting pad, die, cutting pad)

Once the boxes were cut out, I asked the boys to design the tops of the boxes. I also created a Chip off the Block free printable for the tops of the boxes and a coordinating card. The printable tags can be used on any gift, not just these boxes. Once the boxes were decorated, I hot glued the tabs in place. Since I used chipboard to make them, tape was not doing the job, and I was too impatient for liquid glue.

Next, I grabbed my husband’s favorite cookies and decorated the top of the cookie with chocolate butter cream. I wrote (We) (<3) (you) (Dad) (<3 the boys) on 5 cookies.
