Mother’s Day Celebration

Everyday Party Magazine simple chocolate croissant

Mother’s Day Celebration

Mother’s Day Celebration.  This year Mother’s Day kind of snuck up on me…I can’t even grasp that it is less than one week away!  Thankfully, Zazzle has amazing products for gift giving and celebrating!

My mom’s birthday is typically the same week as Mother’s Day, and this year, I gave her a big gift for both her birthday and Mother’s Day.  (She has wanted a SUP for several years, so I got her one.) I did pick up something small to give her on Mother’s Day too.  But, I like to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mom and my sister, without our kiddos.

I used a gorgeous shabby chic style wrapping paper as a backdrop for our celebration.  (I do wish the pattern was a seamless repeat) Then, I layered a wooden CELEBRATE sign from Impressions Shop over the wrapping paper.  I spray painted the sign with a soft yellow color from Rustoleum, and I hung it with fishing line.

The table was full of simple but delicious treats, including a store bought cake, store bought croissants, Lindt candies, and pureed peach ice cubes for Peach Bellinis.  Sixlets and grocery store flowers added more pops of subtle color to the table too.   A bottle of champagne was resting in a bucket of ice with a gorgeous fringe banner.  I made the banner with floral tissue paper from Zazzle and a pale green tissue paper from Cost Plus World Market.  I used my favorite acrylic tray from Zazzle to hold the bowl of peach ice cubes, stemless glasses, and even a bottle stopper. (To keep the mess on the tray to a minimum, I used a sheet of matching green tissue paper on the bottom of the tray, just toss it after the party!)

Those bellinis….just yum! My friend picked fresh peaches a few weeks ago, so I blended them up and froze them before they got yucky…best decision EVER!
