I was recently at a conference and had the opportunity to meet and connect with so many brands that I love and use regularly! One of the brands that I met was Expressions Vinyl. I LOVE using vinyl! It is a fantastic way to personalize inexpensive party favors and gifts! Expressions Vinyl sent me 4 sheets of Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) from their Lego Pack…I haven’t ever used HTV before, so I was excited and nervous! Remember, I am not great at indoor crafts. I am THRILLED to say, I am in LOVE with HTV, and I cannot wait to create my next HTV project. My first project was a no sew table runner (look for that later this Fall) and my next projects were favor bags for a few parties we hosted, and a TMNT t-shirt for my nephew (all using the same pack of Lego Vinyl, with some leftovers!) I am sharing my Lego Minifigure Bag today.
Be sure to check out the 3 other FUN and CREATIVE projects from A Prudent Life, Simply Designing, and Girl Loves Glam!
Each summer we host Flick and Float parties. We invite a few friends over, cook out on the grill, and project a movie on the back wall of our house while the kids and adults float in our pool. This summer has been a little chaotic for us, and my kids reminded me, last week, that we had not yet had a flick and float! Knowing the kids were starting school this week, we decided to host a Lego Movie Flick and Float last weekend, and give Lego Minifigure Bags full of school supplies for favors!
Our favor bags started as plain canvas bags from Michael’s. After a short Google image search, I had a Lego Minifigure silhouette to use with my Cricut to cut out the HTV. Once my Cricut did it’s thing, I pulled out the iron (and clearly did not iron the bag ahead of time thanks to 3 very excited elementary school boys surrounding me asking for the bag when I was done), and some parchment paper and got to work. In less than 1 minute I had the most adorable custom bag for our guests! It was so easy, I ended up making some with sharks for our Shark Week Flick and Float too!
I used the same silhouette to cut out regular vinyl minifigures for some of the supplies. I also used the Lego font to label a notebook with the kids names. The kids loved the blank minifigures on their folders, and with a few sharpies, the minifigures became even more personal!
Check out the fun Lego erasers and pencil sharpeners I was found! So perfect for our party!
I cannot believe I was so nervous about using HTV, it is truly so simple to use! The kids loved splashing in our pool and watching The Lego Movie, AND they can’t wait to use their new school supplies in a few days with their Lego bags!
Be sure to check out all the other HTV projects and enter to win!

Love all the Lego projects! I didn’t have Lego’s as a kid but I enjoyed seeing my kids get so excited when they built something all by themselves!
