Bourbon Syrup Soaked Berry Trifle Recipe
Bourbon Syrup Soaked Berry Trifle Recipe. I recently hosted a Girls Night Out Social Artworking Painting Party for a few of my friends.
It was a fabulous time, you can read about it here.
I shared some of the desserts I made on Instagram, and several people asked for the recipes. I wanted something simple, but delicious, and something that wouldn’t be indulged in regularly. This Bourbon Soaked Berry Trifle was absolutely perfect. I used store bought pound cake from Sam’s Club, fresh berries from the grocery store, and homemade whipped cream, and homemade bourbon syrup. I know, I said simple and homemade whipped cream and bourbon syrup…but I also said delicious and indulgent. And these recipes are very simple!
Shopping list:
Whipped Cream:
1 C Heavy Cream
2 Tbsp powdered sugar
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
Bourbon Syrup:
1 C Granulated Sugar
2 shot+ Bourbon
Trifle:
Pound Cake 2.5 loaves
Berries 3-4 pints
Granulated Sugar for the berries
Whipped Cream Recipe:

- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 2 Tbsp (plus or minus) powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
- Place mixing bowl, mixer attachment, and creamer in the freezer for 15-20 minutes
- Once chilled, pour cream, vanilla, and sugar into mixing bowl
- Mix on medium until peaks form.
Bourbon Syrup Recipe:
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 2 Shots + Bourbon
- Dissolve sugar in water over medium heat in a sauce pan
- Add bourbon
- Bring to low boil
- Remove from heat
To make the trifle, cut pound cake into 1/2-3/4 inch slices and lay on a flat surface. I let mine dry out some, and then I brushed the syrup on each slice. Allow to dry some before you move it.
Once the cake has dried some, place a layer on the bottom a trifle bowl. Add berries, pipe or scoop whipped cream on top. And layer until the bowl is full. Use a large piping tip and add frosting on top to make it pretty, and wow your guests!
