As seen in the Teen Beach Movie Party and on Instagram.
I needed to make some decorations for my son’s Teen Beach Movie Party, but I needed them to cost next to nothing, make an impact, and not take too much time to create.
I was inspired by this image I found online. I talked with a few party bests, and they encouraged me to do it. Gretchen from Three Little Monkeys Studio emailed me the text.
I printed the text on regular paper, and scrounged a piece of scrap lumber from our pile, then I grabbed small nails with large heads, and my hammer and got to work!
1. I hammered the nails around the script on the paper.
2. I tore the paper off the nails and was left with this. (I think I will print two copies of the script/image in the future so I can reference it if I make another one)
3. I used my twine from The Twinery and began to zig zag back and forth on the nails. I made sure to pull the twine tight and loop it around the head of a nail every few zigs to hold it in place. This took a while, and I had to do it twice, but it is relatively mindless, and can be done while watching TV.
4. This is the finished product. I LOVE it! I have it on my mantle now, but it was above the favor table at my son’s party.
