St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Treats
by: Sweet Threads Clothing Co.
My kiddos are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the naughty little leprechauns…just so they can finally have Lucky Charms cereal. I don’t like the kids to eat a bowl of sugary cereal before they go off to school, so Lucky Charms cereal is an annual treat courtesy of the St. Patrick’s Day leprechauns. However, I so wish I had seen these adorable St. Patrick’s Day Rainbow Treats from Sweet Threads Clothing Co. *many* years ago when my boys were littler!
From Michele:
St. Patrick’s Day is full of shamrocks, rainbows and lots of luck! My kids always love any craft that has to do with Froot Loops cereal . I thought it would be cute to use the cereal and actually create edible rainbow treats. It was simple enough for the kids to help put together and a sweet treat for St. Patrick’s Day.
To get started all you need is a package of pipe cleaners, a bag of mini marshmallows and a box of cereal. Pamela of Pamela Smerker Designs also created a printable tag we used to tie onto our little treat bags for our friends. You can get the free download here.
Before placing the marshmallow on the other end, I bent the pipe cleaner to create a rainbow shape. Voila! A perfect little rainbow treat your kids will love!!! The first few I made were gone in seconds….
Taking one pipe cleaner, I added a mini marshmallow to one end and then added the cereal to create a rainbow.
These are such sweet little treats for friends! Both my kids have St. Patrick’s Day parties at school so we made one for each classmate. You can serve them on a white tray or place them in clear treat bags and use one of the favor tags from Pamela Smerker Designs. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!
