Football Party Decor DIY. This weekend my hubby’s beloved Dawgs kick off their 2017 season against Appalachian State…this is also our son’s first hockey tournament weekend, and we can’t have a big game day party. But, we can’t the SEC season kickoff go unnoticed, so I quickly made some mini football goals and placed them on the table with some fun and festive UGA decor.
To make the goal posts, you will need to make a quick run to the hardware store. You can order ALL of your football party needs from Oriental Trading Company.
Goal Post DIY Supplies:
4- 3/4″ PVC elbows
Wooden Block and 3/4″ Forstner Bit and Drill
Begin by cutting the PVC.
You will need:
4- 11″ pieces
4- 5.5″ pieces
2- 6″ pieces
The longer pieces are the top of the goal post, add a cap and elbow to one side of each one.
Connect the 5.5″ pieces with the t-connector, and then connect them to the elbows on the 11″ pieces.
Connect the 6″ piece to the bottom of the t-connector.
Using your drill and forstner bit, drill a 3/4″ hole into the block of wood to hold your PVC.
Stand your goal posts up and spray paint yellow.
The kids and I used small squishy footballs from Oriental Trading to play a fun table top game of football this week when we made the goal posts. These are great for fun fall decorating too!
