Vintage Halloween Celebration. I love all things vintage and old…I love being able to build party props and backdrops. (Big shock, right?) I have been lucky enough to team up with Oriental Trading Company quite frequently lately…I truly do love working with them. Their party supplies are super affordable and cute…
I love having parties (another big shock) and I wanted to host a little vintage style gathering for a few of my mom friends and their kiddos one afternoon. I ordered several styles of mini pumpkins from Oriental Trading Company, and picked up a few bigger ones from my local superstore. I also picked up some fun colored foam pumpkins. I asked the hubby to help me cut a crescent moon from scrap plywood, and I painted it with Deco Art paint. (I have a cordless Ryobi jigsaw and sander and they are all kinds of amazing for jobs like this!) Then, I cut some black paper bats with my Cricut. I tacked the moon and bats to my barn wood backdrop and I was just about ready to party.
While I was at the store, I picked up some candy corn pumpkin candies, tiny oranges, and cupcakes too. Simple white frosted store bought cupcakes were embellished with mini pumpkin buckets from Oriental Trading, and placed in “fancy” black cupcake liners. Candy Corn Pumpkins filled a wooden basket, and little oranges got a spooky Jack O Lantern makeover.
The moms enjoyed Candy Corn Cocktails, and the kiddos played some Halloween Bingo, and tic tac toe.
Before everyone went home for the afternoon, the kids picked up a treat filled mini pumpkin from Oriental Trading Company. I love having the big kid version of a preschool play date, it really makes a random Tuesday, or Thursday afternoon so much more fun!
