STEM Party Week 2- Fidget Spinners. So far our summer break has brought us daily rain storms, and more appointments than I have ever wanted to go to…so, our outdoor STEM experiments have been put on hold. Luckily for me, Oriental Trading Company has plenty of goodies for indoor fun!My kids are OBSESSED with fidget spinners. We have at least a dozen in the house…they have taken some apart, and even built them with LEGOS. So, for this week’s STEM party, I ordered some Fidget Spinners from Oriental Trading Company, grabbed some of our fidget spinners, some LEGOS, and I went to Teachers Pay Teachers to download a Fidget Spinner STEM workbook.
We served cookies and milk for our party, because, as my son said to me, “you can spin and build LEGOS and eat a cookie at the same time…it would be super hard to do that with a cupcake or cake” He’s a smart one….
The kids paired up into small groups and did the workbook. I loved the workbook, and totally think it was worth the $4.75 I paid for it. It’s over 20 pages, and even has an app the kids can use with it! My kids have even printed up two more workbooks and filled them out again since Tuesday…so worth it! The kids also made and tested LEGO fidget spinners. There are so many ways to make spinners with LEGOS.
Before everyone left, I passed out fun Emoji and Metallic Fidget Spinners with some candies from Oriental Trading Company for each child. The kids loved this week’s STEM party as much as last week, and are anxiously looking forward to next week’s fun!
