Ginger Fizz Cocktail Recipe

This whole week I am sharing favorite drink recipes from some of my closest friends, as well as our own “House Special”. You don’t want to miss any of these fabulous drink recipes, I promise, they are all that good!DIY Modern Holiday’s recipe for Ginger Fizz Cocktails (with or without alcohol) sound so crisp and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon! I cannot wait to try this recipe for myself and a few friends! {Side note, I truly believe Pineapple Paper Co. has the Midas Touch, everything she does always looks so fabulous}

- 1 1/2 c of fresh ginger, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups water
- 4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 oz Ginger Syrup
- 1 oz Rum
- Club Soda
- Bring all of the ingredients to boil in a saucepan.
- Boil for about 5 minutes, then reduce heat to low and let simmer for at least 20 minutes, or up to an hour.
- Strain with a fine mesh sieve.
- Store in a glass jar with a lid in the fridge for up to a month.
- Add 4 oz of the ginger syrup to a shaker
- 1 oz of rum
- Fill with club soda (or carbonated water from a SodaStream).
- Shake lightly and pour over ice into two glasses.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice and garnish with fresh mint.
- *the ginger syrup can also be used for a lot of other drinks, including a non-alcoholic ginger ale (recipe above minus the rum), and another of our favorites, the Dark & Stormy*
