Fire Fighter Party

Fire Fighter Party. There was nothing cooler or more amazing to my boys than a fire truck and fire fighters when they were toddlers. Even still, they like checking out fire trucks. (Heck, I checked one out when I was in Chicago recently, I’ll be sharing about my trip soon) I vividly remember pumping gas in my car when my oldest was about 18 months old, and a fire truck went screaming past. I said, “Look, a fire truck!”…to the 80 year old man pumping gas next to me, because my son was with his grandparents that day. LOL! Anyway, I recently styled a Fire Fighter party on a budget.

The first thing I did was check out Oriental Trading Company. Of course I found a ton of fabulous stuff, and ordered it. I spent about $50 for everything at OTC, and had enough for a party of 12. (Links to everything will be listed below) Next, I went to Walmart, and purchased 2 yards of yellow fabric for $4, and two rolls of crepe paper for $1 each. I used a black table cloth I already owned, and I borrowed real fire fighter gear from a friend, her husband went through the academy. Now, all I needed to do was buy some snacks, cupcakes, and make juice. I purchased mostly candy, but I always have fresh fruits and veggies and other snacks on hand.

The party table only took about 45 minutes to set up, and we were ready for our guests. I stapled long streamers to a board, layering the red and orange. I used the yellow fabric behind the streamers and it looked perfect. Then, I used some twine to make a fire fighter badge bunting for the front of the table.

I used the awesome fire hydrant drink dispenser for juice, and mini fire hydrant drinking cups. (SO CUTE!) Cupcakes were embellished with fire fighter figurines, and fire fighter mini rubber ducks were on the table too. Candy was served in buckets with fire fighter badges stuck to the fronts. Finally, real fire fighter boots, gloves, and a helmet were added to the table.
